Three-Component Epoxy Primer

DESCRIPTION

PRIMER EPO 3 is a three-component, water-based epoxy primer designed for damp-proofing concrete subfloors and existing floor surfaces, including ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, marble and other similar materials.

It provides protection against residual moisture and is suitable for use before the installation of wood flooring with compatible adhesives.

APPLICATION

Mix Component A with Component B until a smooth, homogeneous mixture is obtained. Then add Component C and mix thoroughly using an electric mixer until a uniform consistency is achieved.

The subfloor must be free from any substances that may act as separating agents, such as oils, grease, paint or similar contaminants.

For existing floor surfaces, the substrate must be suitably roughened. Glossy surfaces should be degreased using water and soda, thoroughly rinsed with water and mechanically treated with a sander fitted with a steel pad.

Any cracks or gaps in the substrate must be repaired before applying the primer.

Apply the first coat evenly using a brush or flat trowel. The second coat should be applied 4–12 hours after the first coat, in a crosswise direction.

For easier brush application, 5–10% water may be added.

The flooring can be installed 24–48 hours after application using compatible two-component epoxy-polyurethane or one-component silane-terminated adhesives.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• The system provides protection against residual moisture, but does not replace a vapour barrier in cases of continuous rising damp.
• Store above freezing temperature.
• Product subject to the restrictions specified by EC Directive 2004/42.

SAFETY & STORAGE

Keep the product in a tightly closed, upright container in a cool place away from sources of heat.

The product is classified and labelled in accordance with applicable EC regulations concerning hazardous substances. For detailed safety information, refer to the relevant Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Empty containers, or containers containing small amounts of product residue, must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
