Description

DECK.OIL GS is a high-performance, plant-based protective oil developed from a carefully selected blend of natural oils and waxes, perfectly balanced for outdoor applications.

Available in both neutral (clear) and tinted versions (DECK.OIL GS COLOR – see Vermeister color chart), it protects wooden surfaces from weathering—especially UV radiation—while preserving the wood’s natural breathability.

Application Instructions

To achieve optimal results, proper surface preparation is essential.

1. Remove any previous finishes completely
2. Sand the surface with grit 100–120
3. Thoroughly remove dust and impurities

Apply DECK.OIL GS (clear or tinted) using a roller (short-pile black), brush, pad, spatula, or applicator in a thin, even layer.

• Carefully remove any excess product using a cloth
• Alternatively, after 5–15 minutes, polish with a single-disc machine (white or beige pad)

⚠ Excess waiting time may make polishing more difficult
⚠ Excess product must be removed to avoid surface defects

Polishing improves penetration into the wood and accelerates drying.

Application Notes

• When using DECK.OIL GS COLOR as the first coat, it is recommended to finish with DECK.OIL GS (neutral version)
• Weathered or greyed wood, as well as oily wood species (e.g., IPE/Lapacho), should be pre-treated with DECK RESET
• In such cases, apply a generous first coat (approx. 70–100 g/m²) until full saturation is achieved
• Apply a second coat after 12–24 hours

Durability

The durability depends on:

• exposure conditions
• intensity of use

Surfaces exposed to marine environments (salt) or strong sunlight require more frequent maintenance.

Maintenance

Maintenance should be carried out only after full curing of the oil.

Use exclusively:

• SOAP OIL
• CLEAN OIL
• OIL.CARE

Every 3–6 months (depending on exposure), apply a maintenance coat of DECK.OIL GS following the same procedure.

Notes

• Surfaces are walkable after 2–3 days, but full protection is achieved after 10–15 days
• Avoid washing (even with water) or covering the surface before full curing
• Shake well before use
